// DESCRIPTION

As our Game Designer at BULKHEAD, you will be a key member of the team. You will be a driven design evangelist with excellent written and verbal communication skills, someone who shares their work often and has experience with Unreal.

You will be working within a large-scale team on a AAA project, liaising closely with Senior Designers, the Lead Designer, Design Director, and Production you will help design several major features. You will collaborate closely with your design team peers and the rest of the development team to create unique and thrilling game experiences throughout various areas of the game.

You will be excited by the prospect of having many varied game design tasks, addressing the day-to-day and week-to-week needs of a large title. You will be able to iterate quickly, aiding in creating contemporary design solutions that you will build from end-to-end, from early ideation, to documentation, through to prototyping and final implementation in engine.


// RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help design major game features, levels, or areas of the game.
  • Understand the technical constraints of the engine, project, and the needs of the design team.
  • Pro-actively work alongside other developers and designers to share and gather essential information.
  • Evaluate, validate, and incorporate feedback from the team as well as external user testing.
  • Maintain consistently high-quality work.

// REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience and knowledge of Unreal is essential.
  • Experience in designing major gameplay systems in a shipped AAA or Indie title.
  • The ability to work independently as well as working alongside a small handful of other level designers.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

// DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in AAA game design roles.
  • Experience in designing features for consoles + PC.
  • Experience in creating levels for multiplayer first or third-person shooters.
