Job Description


The main purpose of this role will be to support one of our key business units to achieve their growth plans. This role will oversee the Environment, Water and Energy Talent Acquisition team in providing a best in class service in how we attract and select candidates into the organisation. This role can be based from any of our major locations around the UK, with a preference but not limited to St Albans, Birmingham, Manchester or Edinburgh with a hybrid work style to suit your life.

This role will require a very high level of collaboration with key operational stakeholders and support services peers. It is critical they will install a 'can do' and solution driven mentality to an already high performing team as well as providing a level of consistency in approach and methodology with best practice methods being utililsed at all time in line with AECOM’s regional and global standards.

This position will require strategic input at leadership level to set the direction of the TA function. From this, clear tactical measures need to be put in place to effectively deliver best in class output.

  • Represent the TA function for AECOM within the key business unit by becoming a brand ambassador; ensuring our employer brand is reflected both internally and externally.
  • Supporting the Talent Acquisition team by working with them to engage with key stakeholders and the wider Human Resources teams in order to deliver on our workforce planning approach on a regular basis to ensure the team can service the business and consider ever changing needs.
  • Ensuring requisition workload meets the demand of our workforce plans in order to create a pro-active approach to Talent Acquisition.
  • Lead the Business Line Talent Acquisition Team, ensuring that they are fully supported to deliver for their key stakeholders and hiring managers.
  • Be part of our TA transformation revolving around our TA Operating Model, Digital Tools, Employer Value Proposition and systems.
  • Provide meaningful data via accurate monthly reports to Business Line executive stakeholders, and our Europe HRLT members, showcasing successes, opportunities, threats and risks to delivering..
  • Actively lead our strategic hires within the Business Line using our best practice search and selection process.
  • Participate in providing innovative ideas for recruitment strategies, technologies and process improvements.
  • Fully responsible for ensuring that all local advertising mediums are kept up to date and available recruitment tools are used to their full potential
  • Provide strategic support and guidance on key business priority initiatives in high growth areas.
  • Champion equity, diversity and inclusion across all touchpoints for hiring managers and candidates alike.
  • Ensuring that there is always 100% compliance throughout the life cycle recruitment process including clean data, appropriate sourcing and selection techniques, and accurate processes are being used for each position consistently.
  • Always be one step ahead on talent competition and industry trends.
  • Fully responsible for the Preferred Supplier list of Recruitment Agencies ensuring compliancy at all times.
  • Hold regular meetings with key stakeholders to ensure the partnering relationship is maintained, relevant data is provided and that service levels are being met.

Experience and Skills Required.

  • Experience in a similar role within a multinational organisation with a strong focus on people management, operational delivery and excellence.
  • Customer-oriented with experience working with multiple stakeholders, appreciated the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships with recruiters, hiring managers, business partners and candidates alike.
  • Analytically strong approach to data, reporting and insights which leads to practical solutions and the right decision making.
  • High appreciation and knowledge of recruitment ATS and HRIS systems and the metrics that are needed to story tell different elements of the recruitment funnel.
  • Champions and promotes ED&I within the business and to the external market.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, problem solve and exercise judgement under time pressure Possess the experience, confidence, and presence to influence and engage internal stakeholders and the external market.
  • Ability to work in the best interests of the business whilst remaining ethical and compliant, leading by example
