Refresco the world’s leading independent soft drinks manufacturer seeks an agile, entrepreneurial and passionate, Site Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager to join our team at Refresco Nelson (Lancashire) . You report to the Site General Manager, are part of the site leadership team, and lead a team of up to 70 colleagues focusing on warehouse and supply chain planning.

The site at Nelson has a new dynamic management team under a new General Manager, who are setting up to fully realise the full benefits and ROI of recent major multi £million investment in leading edge drink's manufacturing technology.

About the Role

The role of Site Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager is an interesting mix of warehouse management responsibilities and supply chain planning at our Nelson site.

You cover all aspects of warehouse management, everything related to goods received, storage of all goods and despatch of finished goods including transport management (Refresco uses 3PL for all our transport). In addition this is a pivotal role in site supply chain planning and production plan forecasting. You are the link between the site and central Supply Chain Planning, participating in the monthly S&OP process, taking the production plan and making sure that your team have all required goods ready and available to deliver the agreed plan. All of this with health & safety at the forefront of everything you do. You have 4 direct reports - a Site Scheduler and 3 Warehouse Front Line Managers.

You will lead your team to deliver the following:

  • Management and operation of all inbound, warehouse and transport activities to ensure they meet customer and external accreditation standards.
  • Lead your team to deliver against all short, medium, long term operational targets and objectives relating to inbound materials and storage and the loading and despatch of packaging and finished goods.
  • Promote a positive behavioural culture towards health & safety. Critically review all accidents and incidents to identify trends, develop and implement improvements.
  • Work with the central Supply Chain team to increase efficiencie in the production planning and forecasting for Nelson.
  • Manage and report budgeted spend for your areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain ex-factory service levels.
  • Continual analysis of the scheduling process to ensure stock holding is in line with working capital targets and agreed warehousing limits, reducing obsolescence and write offs.
  • Converting the provided production plan in to a product schedule and materials packaging schedule.
  • Ensure all components are available and on-site to achieve the production schedule.
  • Continual analysis of production scheduling rules to minimise waste and improve line efficiency.
  • Actively participate in the monthly Sales & Operations Planning process.
  • Coach and develop your team from good to great!

About You

You will need experience in logistics and supply chain including warehousing and ideally gained within a fast moving manufacturing environment. You will need to demonstrate that you are an inspiring, energetic leader with clear communication and commercially related objective setting so that KPI's and targets are understood and achieved. A good record on improving and promoting health and safety is essential.

This role requires a high degree of inter action with Operations and Engineering colleagues on the site, so it is important that you are a good networker, open and approachable. In addition you will need to establish good communication lines and relationships with the central Supply Chain Planning team.

Our production forecasts can change with little or no notice, so you will need to be open and flexible with these last minute changes, communicating them promptly to your team.

SAP experience will be an advantage as the site is a fully integrated ERP environment.
