OFSTED Inspection Support Supervisor (Executive Officer)

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills. We inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people, and services providing education and skills for learners of all ages.
Overall purpose
Reporting to the Inspection Support Team Leader, this role is key to providing the day-to-day supervision and management to a team of Inspection Support Administrators. The supervisor will ensure that efficient support is provided to inspectors and inspection-related activity by allocating and monitoring workloads effectively, providing advice and direction where necessary.
? An excellent package is offered, including:
" £13.97 per hour pay rate (equivalent to £26, 874 FTE salary)
" Starting as soon as you have passed clearance checks until the end of September 2023.
" Accrual of up to 33 days paid annual leave pro rata available (inclusive of bank holidays)
" Hybrid working with all IT equipment supplied to carry out your role once fully trained
" Working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility as the office opens at 7.30am.
" This role is based in Nottingham but some travel to Birmingham (approx. once a month expenses paid) occasional overnight stays with plenty of notice.
Key Responsibilities:
" To oversee, prioritise and allocate work within the team, monitoring progress against service standards and reporting to the Team Leader as appropriate.
" To line manage Inspection Support Administrators in a proactive and positive way to ensure a well-motivated team that provides an efficient and effective service to stakeholders.
" To identify and develop individual training needs for a line management group to promote continuous professional development and to improve systems and structures to deliver a better-quality service.
" To provide advice and direction to team members to ensure the successful delivery of planned outcomes, targets and deadlines.
What are we looking for?
Good written and verbal communication skills, working effectively with team members and relevant stakeholders both internally and externally to provide accurate advice and guidance.
" Understanding and successful application of how to prioritise, plan and deliver on key work activities to tight deadlines.
" Ability to handle fast paced environment
" A can-do attitude and a real passion for supporting people.
" You will be trained on several software packages but being a confident IT user is essential for the role, the use of MS Office packages, particularly excel.
" As a hybrid worker office attendance is expected 3 days a week and as the business requires. Moving to working from home twice a week when fully trained, so a confidential, quiet workspace within your home and good broadband connection and connectivity will be required.
" Candidates applying must be able to pass a clear Standard DBS check and provide proof of Right to Work in the UK.
" Ideally, you would have experience of supervising staff or supporting/coaching others, but it is not essential.
Training:
" You will receive full in-house training to ensure you have the best skills and knowledge to carry out your role and you will have a supportive and friendly management structure to support you on a day-to-day basis. Our teams keep in touch using Microsoft Teams and, although you will be working from home, you will feel part of the team and be able to keep in touch with your colleagues.
