Job Summary
Our busy London team are searching for an Associate - Fire Engineering.
The Associate - Fire forms a viable part of the Introba leadership team and is responsible for managing his/her respective Project Design Team.
The Associate – Fire provides leadership, technical support, and management resources essential to Introba for design decision-making and team management accountability.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
The Associate - Fire:

Works with the Introba Leadership Team to control and coordinate business development,sales/marketing, team targets, team personnel, technical design and related activities.

Develops, establishes, and administers procedures and systems pertaining to teammanagement matters.

Prepares workload, sales forecasts and team resources/schedule for administrative andmanagerial functions.

Serves as the principle liaison with selected clients or major projects

Upholds and maintains Introba's design standards and will be responsible for engineering specifications, documentation, standardization, quality assurance, cost and value analysis and the broader aspects of building services (plus role of Managing Consultant as required).
The Associate - Fire will be fully responsible and accountable for their design team, will review staffing regularly and will distribute tasks effectively and in alignment with staff skill sets.
The Associate - Fire will work with Human Resources and make recommendations for staff hiring, terminations, and issues related to performance discipline.
General Responsibilities
People

Provide the Management Team with staff performance criteria and information on all design staff.

Meet regularly with all team members to ensure issues are identified and action plans are in place.

Conduct team semi-annual performance reviews.

Keep track of design team vacation time and schedules.
-
Recommend training requirements to Human Resources.

Provide input to Human Resources on all design team employment issues.

Utilize leadership skills and motivation techniques to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction.
Financial
-
Provide workload forecasting as new projects are secured and provide progress analysis regarding prospective unsecured projects.

Ensure Deltek Financial system is updated with project plans on a regular basis.

Recommend distribution of new work based on staff availability as established by the team workload requirements.
Technical
-
Effect and implement programs to improve the quality of our service, products and systems to meet client's requirements and expectations and to minimize costs and maximize the company's competitive position.

Instill the concept of quality being the responsibility of every design team member.

Train staff in all phases of design process to insure continuation of technical design operation when absent from the office or when staff is on vacation.

Promote quality issues with all members and in particular ensures that the quality control function is effectively performed.

Direct the quality assurance and control programs in the office.

Keep current on new developments in innovative design; included in this is participating in seminars and / or professional associations, attend trade shows relevant to company’s interests.

Company representative at related association meetings, plus dealing with city, provincial, state and federal officials.

Assure adequate field review services are provided to ensure adherence of contract documents.

Effect studies to determine cause, effect, and corrective actions required to remedy deviations impairing desired standards.

Conversant with codes of practice and standards.
Quality Control

Monitoring and assurance consistent with Introba's corporate requirements, standards and guidelines.

Review and recommend design process to ensure alignment with company policies and seek and recommend improvements and further efficiencies.
Qualifications
-
Extensive knowledge in fire engineering design and the various Regulations / British Standards.

Experience of CFD / zone modelling.

Able to write and review reports.

Capable of leading and participating in qualitative design reviews (QDR).

Able to undertake site inspections and risk assessments.

Superior interpersonal skills with clients and staff.
