As our Senior Facilities Coordinator at Uppark House & Garden, you’ll be responsible for the practical maintenance and the operational management of contracts relating to the buildings and utilities.
The role is fixed term for 2 years 37.5 hours per week. There may be some weekend working.

It’s an exciting time to join us as we embark on some very interesting infrastructure projects. Reporting to our Facilities & Support Services Manager and Building Surveyor, you’ll be working alongside our Business Services Coordinator, Collections and House team and Visitor Experience team on the presentation of the site. You’ll be working with external contractors to help us to keep our property well maintained and will manage a team of volunteers who provide us with maintenance support. As a member of duty management, you’ll be helping to keep our visitors safe and happy.
Uppark forms part of a wider portfolio of properties including Hinton Ampner and Winchester City Mill. Whilst this role is based at Uppark, the Facilities and Support Services team spreads across the whole portfolio, working to keep our buildings and facilities safe and compliant and our business operations running smoothly. There are plenty of opportunities to develop your skills through National Trust training courses.
What you'll be doing:Looking after a 17 th Century property who welcomes nearly 90,000 visitors per year takes a lot of time and TLC.
Day to day, you'll be coordinating our facilities management for Uppark which could mean monitoring and arranging the servicing of our private water treatment plant, biomass heating system, fire management systems and sewage treatment system. Arranging urgent minor building repairs and working with our Building Surveyor on larger projects to keep our operation running smoothly behind the scenes and ensuring our compliance. You’ll be expected to get stuck in yourself with anything from water sampling, inspecting manholes, day to day care of biomass boilers, unblocking a toilet or fixing a faulty lock.
