We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Senior Corporate Actuary to join our Life Financial Planning team to provide a highly professional actuarial service applying deep technical & business knowledge to aid senior management decision making and to mentor others in the actuarial specialism.
The role provides a wide variety of work supporting delivery of financial targets across the group including strategic projects, regulatory projects, corporate development and management actions delivery. The role links in to lots of other business areas so a great opportunity to develop your network and build commercial thinking.

The role
Manage the specification, development and testing of complex numerical models, analysing a range of business data, providing detailed interpretation and making recommendations to senior management to support making judgements.
Guide the preparation of papers and reports for senior management and Executives, including conducting evaluation and preparing recommendations and providing sign off prior to circulation.
Act as actuarial subject matter expert on strategic business or Group level projects to ensure specialist input is provided to business decision making.
Communicate effectively with a technical actuarial audience. and simplify communications of technical issues to a non-technical audience.
Participate in external committees and groups as required in order to promote the Groups interests and influence the direction of any industry wide developments.
Provide technical guidance in key areas of expertise and represent business area appropriately within cross divisional projects.
Applying commercial understanding of the business to ensure financial, business and actuarial advice is aligned with the business needs.
Communicating complex concepts and recommendations to multiple stakeholders across the business both in the UK and potentially globally.
Balancing business demand, issues and risks by applying sound judgement in complex scenarios, often with considerable uncertainty.
What are we looking for?
Qualified Actuary with significant post qualification experience
Excellent understanding of Solvency regulation and life company balance sheet mechanics for different products
Experience in a UK life company or life consulting practice
