Position

The main purpose of the role is to develop and support technical underwriting lines of business, schemes and associated items to time, quality, and cost.


Your key responsibilities


  • Hands on delivery of software working as part of cross functional agile team. Advocating and implementing improvements in working practices.
  • Work as part of a collaborative, customer focused and industry leading Development function.
  • Developing and maintaining new and existing schemes.
  • Developing and maintaining new and existing line of business data captures.
  • Troubleshooting, investigating, bug fixing and resolving client issues through the support desk.
  • Configuration of environments.
  • Development of new and existing internal tools to improve the software delivery process.
  • Liaising with the team and clients both verbally and electronically.
  • Software building and deployment.
  • Ensure professional technical underwriting best practice with a focus on time, cost, and quality throughout.
  • Ensure industry best practices are utilised throughout the technical underwriting discipline.
  • Work with all other teams and departments to ensure the goal of delivery is optimal and continuously improved upon.

Requirements

Experience

  • Industry experience of software development.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Office, SQL and Microsoft DevOps C# Development.
  • Knowledge of the Insurance Industry would be advantageous.


Skills

  • C# Coding, VB6/.NET Basic Coding, SQL, Power Shell, Workflow management tools
  • Knowledge of underwriting product design and build processes on any platform.
  • Natural problem solver, methodical perspective, eye for detail.
  • Quick learner, good timekeeping, can work to deadlines.
