£40,000 plus fantastic benefits package

Test Engineer Role Summary:

Our client is looking for a Test Engineer who will be an integral part of a small team. This role is responsible for correctly testing and validating the design and build, as well as verifying that all equipment meets the customer’s requirements prior to dispatch.

Final system testing will cover a number of different disciplines, in both electrical and electronic systems, including pneumatic circuits, mechanical assemblies and delivery systems.

The Test Engineer should be fully competent to work, and fault find on high voltage electrical control gear as well as digital and analogue control circuitry.

Test Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Project manage the complete final test stage, including:The timing and overseeing of additional production work and labour where required.

To qualify functional testing of our clients designed/manufactured systems to agreed company standards & customer expectations.
Undertake the safe testing of systems in accordance with current procedures.
Management of component or product non-conformances and the instigation of design change requests through the company quality systems.
Supporting customer visits and training.
Complete standard and special test documentation of any tests.
All ‘Final System Testing’ is done in accordance with the company quality system and the ‘Final Test’ works instruction (a quality approved and controlled document).

  • Assist with customer demonstrations and training.
  • Maintain the Test area and equipment to ensure a safe, clean and organised environment.
  • Liaising with the Engineering department over current and new designs.
  • Provide technical assistance to other operational functions, on some occasions this may include international travel to the customer’s site.

Test Engineer Qualifications and Experience:

  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) – Electrical and/or Electronics
  • Electrical/electronic logic circuit knowledge, understanding electrical schematic drawings.
  • Experience using E-plan or similar electronic drawing packages.
  • Understanding of PLC and PC based control hardware and software
  • 3 Phase electrical supplies, circuits and rotating machinery experience
  • Dynamic electronic circuit control device experience
  • Current knowledge of applicable electrical safety regulations
  • Power control circuits and circuit device experience
  • Pneumatic actuators and precision mechanics
