Join NPL as a Test Analyst to play a key role in the digital transformation of our advanced science and engineering organisation.

You will have the key responsibility of undertaking testing for multiple projects within the transformation programme. As part of the Technical Delivery Team, you’ll provide support all the way through project lifecycles – giving you a major influence on their successful implementation.

Specific duties include:

  • designing comprehensive Test Cases in preparation for Test Execution
  • developing manual and automated tests and executing activities through the lifecycle
  • developing and running system, integration and regression test cycles
  • reviewing Business and System Requirements documents.
  • performing periodic quality control on testing processes and procedures to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • supporting the management of Test Automation requirements
  • maintaining an up-to-date library of reusable test scripts for regression.

In terms of technical skills and experience you need:
  • experience of using tools like Jira, Azure DevOPS, Selenium, J-meter or any open-sourced testing tools
  • experience working on Big Systems: ERP / SAP / Hybris / similar
  • a good understanding of basic SQL queries and databases
  • an understanding of available data integrations into other systems
  • the ability to identify and recognise technical dependencies
  • experience of working on Data Migration projects.

We’re also looking for:

  • good interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and manage stakeholders
  • strong organisational skills and the ability to co-ordinate and prioritise day to day work
  • a logical, methodical, and analytical approach with acute attention to detail
  • excellent communication skills, with the ability to document test results, respond to questions about data and report test issues clearly and concisely.
