Jesmond Dene House is an award-winning 4 Red Star hotel with a Michelin Plate awarded Dining Room and bar, situated in a leafy suburb of Jesmond, 5 minutes from Newcastle-upon-Tyne City Centre. What are we looking for?

We are looking for a team member who has past experience as a sous chef in a similar environment.

You should have a good understanding of the procurement processes, this is not essential but is preferred. All training will be given

You will have a good understanding of food hygiene. As part of our training we will ensure you are given a refresher in Level 2 food safety and also train to level 3 standards

Most of all we are looking for someone with; passion, dedication and a love for food, someone who is keen to pass on knowledge and see junior team members grow!

Key Responsibilities

· To assist the head chef in the day to day running of the kitchen and in their absence

· To ensure the whole team is working to safe and legal practices

· To ensure our training / recipes and culture is followed

· Ensure that chefs have all the knowledge they need and the tools they need

· To ensure the staffing levels are kept to the correct business levels

· To ensure all products entering and leaving the kitchens are to the set Jesmond Dene House standards

· To uphold the team SOP’s given to you

· Do the right thing for the guests

· To track, replenish and keep in date order the stock holding.

· To be pro-active with customer comments and complaints
