Job Description
- PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION To maximize guest satisfaction by providing efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous food and beverage service to all guests, in line with departmental and hotel guidelines and service concepts. RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS AND DUTIES Areas of Responsibility
- Provide efficient, prompt, trouble free, courteous and quality service
- Always put the needs of the customer first
- Deal with customer queries and complaints effectively and in a timely manner, requesting assistance from Assistant Manager as required
Duties
- Sets up restaurant/function space to Hotel standard
- Is ready for guest arrival at all times
- Accurately places orders, then checks product prior to delivering to guest
- Serves guests their food and beverage promptly and courteously
- Ensures that the working area and stations are well stocked, clean and tidy at all times
- Has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the food and beverage offering, including times of service
- Is able to upsell products appropriately
- Maintains a friendly, yet professional manner with guests at all times
- Attends briefings before service
- Handles any customer queries and complaints effectively, seeking assistance from Assistant Manager when required
- Keeps all cutlery, crockery, glassware and other tableware clean and in good working order
Laws, regulations and policies
- To maintain high standards of food hygiene, Health & Safety, including COSHH and HACCP, and cleanliness at all times
- Reports all potential and real hazards immediately
- Fully understands the hotel’s fire, emergency, and bomb procedures
- Works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others
- Reports all equipment breakdowns to the Food & Beverage Manager as soon as discovered
- Follows emergency procedures to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
- Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct at all times
General
- Works actively to minimise complaints from guests
- Attends meetings and trainings required by the Food & Beverage Manager
- Is aware of promotions and special events taking place in and around the hotel
- Accept flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests
- Continuously seek to improve knowledge of own job function
- Reasonably carry out any other tasks requested by the company
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £6.50-£10.42 per hour
