Our client are specialists in the manufacturing of industry leading laboratory equipment. Their Software and Electronics department are seeking a motivated, pro-active Control Systems Engineer to collaborate alongside the sales and design/production engineering teams. The responsibilities of the role involve working on PLC control systems, PC software and electronics for PVD/CVD systems - This will require the design, development and maintenance of the aforementioned technologies. Senior Control Systems Engineer should be experienced in some or all the following: VB.NET, PLC Programming Languages - Ladder Diagram (LD) Sequential Function Charts (SFC) Function Block Diagram (FBD) Structured Text (ST) Instruction List (IL)

Key duties of the role shall include:

• Supporting test engineers with factory and site acceptance testing.
• Maintain records for traceability of changes.
• Support/mentor junior engineers in the software and electronics department
• Ensure systems function safely through appropriate design of hardware and software interlocks.
• Maintenance of existing production systems software.
• Debugging control systems (hardware and software) both in-house and for customers where required.
• Working on new product development.
• Reporting to management on progress as projects progress.

The successful candidate's key skills will involve 2+ years of experience working with scientific equipment control systems or industrial automation, knowledge of electrical interfaces. Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on analytical thinking alongside problem solving and fault-finding ability.

Location: Cheshire, UK.

Salary: £45-65k dependant on experience.
