Our Security Officers will have the duty of:

• Manning the University itself, the University Library and Student Accommodation.
• The Security Officer will manage the gatehouse - dealing with CCTV, issuing visitor cards and supporting students who have locked themselves out, re-gain access to their rooms.
• Escorting visitors across the site when needed.
• Remain 100% alert and vigilant at all times to detect and deter any suspicious or threatening behaviour
• Retaining full control of any threatening behaviour until the arrival of the police or any other external agency.
• Monitoring loss and waste – reporting any incidences.
• Patrolling Accommodation, University and Library.

Essential Skills

Requirements of Security Officer:

• Excellent customer service, people skills, organisational skills and time management
• Ability to stay alert
• SIA License
• 5-year checkable employment history
