Contract: Fixed-term, 18 months

Location: Hybrid working - Head office: Quorum Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne

Hours per week: 37

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the role


We’re excited to be looking for a Regulatory Business Partner to join our Audit, Risk and Assurance team to provide a professional, expert view on regulatory matters across the business.

The ARA team is responsible for working directly with our regulators and key stakeholders by delivering technical expertise and industry knowledge. They also represent NCFE in relevant forums and committees developing opportunities for communities of practice.
As our Regulatory Business Partner, you will ensure that all regulatory frameworks are strictly implemented throughout the business. You’ll identify possible risks and offer solutions and through coaching leaders and managers, you’ll help to increase ownership and pre-empt and reduce regulatory related risks.

You’ll keep up to date with regulatory changes, external trends, and best practice in your areas of expertise to support colleagues to continuously drive improvements in approaches and policies.
In this role you'll be responsible for:
  • Providing guidance, support and pro-active regulatory, risk and compliance advice to the business
  • Working with stakeholders to support the finding of pragmatic compliance solutions to meet stakeholder and business needs.
  • Working with internal departments to identify and manage regulatory risk.
  • Providing oversight of regulatory risks raised to help ensure senior management have an accurate view on the level of regulatory risks in their areas.
  • Supporting the draft content of our annual statements of compliance to our regulators.
We'd love to hear from you if you hold the following key skills and experience:
  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working in a compliance / audit / risk / ‘solution-focussed’ role
  • Experience of developing / evaluating compliance and risk procedures
  • Excellent, effective communication skills, both in written and verbal communications
  • Demonstrable knowledge of compliance legislation and its practical application, preferably within an educational context
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
This role requires hybrid working therefore you will need to be within travel distance of Head Office as you will be required to work from the Office once per week.
