Newport City Council’s Social Services Performance Team is seeking to appoint a talented, motivated and hard-working individual to the post of Welsh Community Care Information System (WCCIS) Development and Training Officer. This is a very interesting and challenging role within Prevention and Inclusion, Adult and Children’s Social Services.


The Training and Development Officer is responsible for identifying staff training, developing training material, and planning and delivering appropriate training. Additional duties also include managing the day to day running of the WCCIS helpdesk, testing of upgrades to the WCCIS system, provision of performance management information and development of WCCIS and associated processes.


The successful candidate will have experience of delivering training, strong analytical, problem-solving and IT skills and possess an awareness and understanding of social care information and systems. Experience in the use and interrogation of Performance Information systems, spreadsheets and databases is also required, as are excellent communication skills.


Currently, the post holder will be required to work mainly from home but attendance at the Civic Centre or other Newport City Council offices will also be necessary at times.
