About us:
Technology Service Operations (TSO) is accountable for ensuring the day to day running of all systems, software, infrastructure and managed services within Technology and Data (T&D) across TfL.
TSO supports over 400 distinct business services and 30,000 desktop users. This number will continue to grow as TSO extends its reach across non-core TfL entities and the GLA family: the London Transport Museum, Transport Trading Limited Property, the GLA, the OPDC, MOPAC and soon the London Legacy Development Corporation.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Service Performance Manager (SSPM) role within TSO Transport Services. This are key role spans across LU & Rail and Surface Transport services and is running the delivery arm of this function
About the Role:

  • As an SSPM, you will work closely with the Service Owner to shape the strategic direction of the Service Tower and lead large dedicated and hard-working IT professional teams.
  • You will be accountable for the service performance and lifecycle management of services within the Transport Services tower, the optimisation of commercial arrangements, financial control, and business planning activities. In line with TfL’s aim to to seek efficiencies, this includes continued strategic consolidation through the life of the services and cost savings for your associated budgets.
  • You will work alongside the Service Owner in shaping the strategic direction of your area and the associated portfolio.
  • You’ll lead a multi-skilled team of Application Managers to ensure effective service delivery of a number of supported services.
  • Leading resource planning activities across your portfolio of services
  • You will ensure all suppliers are managed to the agreed service level targets ensuring delivery off business outputs.
  • You will oversee any new and existing commercial agreements and costs of services across your portfolio to ensure services are achieved cost effectively and meet business requirements.
  • You will lead the team to deliver a multitude of projects namely IBUS 2, and Maximo Technology enhancements for Surface Transport, & Metro Maximo for LU & Rail. You will require experience of incident management along with problem and change management
Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline or relevant experience
  • ITIL V3 Service Management certification or similar
  • Broad Knowledge/ Awareness of DevOps, Agile & Project methodologies (including Prince2)
  • Knowledge and experience of the provision of effective technical support services
  • Extensive knowledge of technologies especially in Asset Management & Maximo
  • Knowledge of Financial and Commercial processes
Skills
  • Ability to influence at all levels which includes presenting at business forums and supervising service reviews with senior management
  • Proven ability to manage interactions between suppliers, internal teams and customers to deliver quality technology service performance.
  • Proven analytical skills to interpret complex data and make or influence appropriate business decisions
  • High level of communication skills utilising multiple communication channels
Experience
  • Experience of delivering and managing diverse IT services or similar in a complex, multi-site, organisation
  • Experience of interacting and communicating at senior level, both internally and externally to multiple stakeholders
  • Experience of negotiating, delivering and managing complex, large scale, service issues
  • Experience of relationship management and account management
  • Experience of leading large muti skilled teams
  • Commercial management experience ensuring effective supply chain arrangements to deliver value, quality and reliability
