//DESCRIPTION

As Lead Audio Designer at BULKHEAD, you will be the backbone of the team’s audio discipline, shaping the sound on our Multiplayer All Out Warfare Shooter ‘WARDOGS’. You will be part of the core team for the project and will have the presence and knowledge to discuss all aspects of game development with your peers whilst championing audio innovation and excellence.

As the Audio Lead, you will be able to clearly communicate a strong vision for audio direction and you will have several key relationships across the studio.

You will undoubtedly be a confident audio leader and capable of being an advocate for the team. With a passion for excellence, you will drive for high standards, inspire, and mentor team members to push for creative collaboration across both the Audio department and other disciplines.

This is an in-studio role, and this is non-negotiable; however, we can offer bespoke relocation packages.

// RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take responsibility for all aspects of audio development at a Lead level.
  • Contribute to the creative aspects of sound design, implementation, mixing and troubleshooting in game audio.
  • Oversee the audio design and its implementation through all stages of development.
  • Manage and mentor a team of passionate and dedicated audio designers to help further grow our combined experience.
  • Manage the workflow of all audio productions.
  • Leverage the full capabilities of Unreal Engine 5 native audio. Build bespoke and performant audio systems that allow audio designers greater technical control and ownership than traditional middleware.
  • Work closely with the Creative Directors and external composers to set the musical direction.
  • Act as the department figurehead when collaborating and communicating with all studio departments.
  • Collaborate with directors to design and implement audio tools, pipelines, and processes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Develop and support a positive and energetic team culture.

// REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Multiple years of experience in audio for video games.
  • Experience shipping AAA games in a lead or senior audio role.
  • Experience in creating UE5 Metasounds and Blueprints or similar visual scripting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.

// DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Advanced experience in field recording techniques.
  • FPS, weapon design and large-scale multiplayer experience.
  • Experience in producing dialogue pipelines, tools and playback systems.
  • Advanced understanding of technical audio skills and implementation.
