The Federation of Holy Trinity Church of England Schools is seeking to appoint an inspirational teaching assistant to enhance our Teaching and Learning Team. We are looking to welcome a colleague who can demonstrate both passion and commitment to making learning memorable whilst improving outcomes for our children. This is a permanent post to work alongside Key Stage Two teaching staff to provide learning support and pastoral care for pupils with additional needs many of who demonstrate aspects of autistic behaviours. This post will require the successful candidate to work across the age range with some 1-1 bespoke support. The post is 27.5 GTA hours (Monday to Friday 8.45am – 3.30pm) with a 30 minute lunch break plus 0.75 hours per day MSA duties. Both roles will be on scale SCP 2.

We are looking to welcome a member of staff who thrives on making a difference to learning. You should hold a NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of experience in supporting children with special educational needs, ideally in supporting children with autism. Candidates should be able to confidently discuss their experience in dealing with challenging behaviours, as well as supporting children in developing:

• Communication, language and interaction

• Social understanding and relationships

• Sensory processing

• Interests and routines

• Emotional understanding and self-awareness

• Learning and engagement

• Healthy living

• Independence and community participation.

The successful candidate will be required to show evidence of;

• ability to use a range of creative teaching methods to engage Key Stage Two learners in challenging learning

• a passion for extending learning beyond the classroom, including outdoor learning

• confident knowledge of spelling support strategies

• good understanding of the key stage two maths curriculum alongside personal mathematical fluency

• effective management of learning and positive behaviour strategies

• commitment to raising standards and accelerating progress of vulnerable learners

• effective team member

• commitment to actively promoting inclusion.
