Blue Arrow Derby is proud to be working in partnership with an excellent company that specialise in providing Luxury Desserts and Sweet Treats. Our client is looking for a Food Safety Brand Auditor (Field Based) to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in a field-based role but would also be attending team meetings at their Head Office based in Derby a couple of times a month.

About the Food Safety Auditor role
Reporting to the Head of Compliance you would be conducting audits across Health & Safety, Food Safety and Brand Elements across their 50 locations within the UK, carrying out an audit for each site once per quarter.
This role is field based but will require being based at the Head Office a few times a month for team meetings and administrative duties, so the ideal candidate will live within a 1-hour commute of Derby.

HOURS: 45 hours per week (Mon-Fri) - but flexibility will be needed to work some evenings & odd weekends when required

SALARY: £29,000 + fuel and travel allowance/expenses

What will you be doing in the Food Safety Auditor role?
  • To support the business, company stores and franchisees in all aspects of store operations to ensure the delivery of the brand against values and operational excellence targets.
  • Delivering reports and analysis pertaining to Store Operations Assessments, Day-today compliance adherence, and ensuring operational excellence is adhered to in stores.
  • Deliver operational and brand compliance audits across all UK stores to an agreed schedule.
  • Support franchisees and store managers to deliver operational excellence in store.
  • Support the business and franchisees by motivating, engaging, and supporting the in-store teams, whilst on-site, to drive performance of standards.
  • Support the business by ensuring you lead by example and represent the brand values in how you work and conduct yourself.
  • Always operate with a fair, reasonable, and consistent approach, following all company and legal procedures.
  • Always engage franchisees, managers, and team members courteously and communicate clearly.
  • Support the Franchisees' store employees to ensure all members of the team follow Health and Safety, COSHH and Food Hygiene regulations always as detailed in the company Store Operations toolkit.
  • Ensure daily HACCP procedures are completed, checked, and recorded.
  • Report any maintenance issues promptly to the Franchisee and any critical, brand damaging, pest, or Health & Safety issues immediately to the compliance manager and appropriate area manger so prompt action can be taken.
  • Inform the relevant area manager/compliance manger if an EHO visit takes place during an audit and support the franchisee with any information they require.
  • Coach and correct on shift where any critical standards are not being delivered to our brand expectations and address the root cause of any problem.
  • Work closely with the compliance manager to identify and improve operational, legislative and brand compliance.
  • Collaborate with the compliance manger to provide the operations team with a monthly/quarterly compliance overview report of the estate.

What will you bring to the Food Safety Auditor role?
  • Previous experience as a food safety/health and safety auditor or similar is essential.
  • Previous experience of food safety auditing within the food industry if essential
  • Candidates with previous experience at management level within a branded restaurant /catering & hospitality sector looking for a new challenge can be considered for this role as full training will be provided.

Desirable Skills
  • Level 2, 3 or Level 4 Food Safety qualification is advantageous.
  • Level 2, 3 or Level 4 HACCP qualification is advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety in a Restaurant/Food environment.
  • Mathematics and English GCSEs, or equivalent.
