JOB SUMMARY

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The principal duties and responsibilities of this role encompass tasks and activities that primarily relate to the purpose of the role and may include other duties that are supplementary to the role.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Maintain accurate and timely accounting records in accordance with legislation, accounting standards, and force regulations.

Experience in Word, Excel to intermediate / advanced level to set up budget spreadsheets.

Manage the day-to-day monitoring daily cash flow requirement.

Undertake timely and accurate reconciliations and resolution of key corporate control accounts, including bank reconciliations.

Raise invoices for all funding streams

Update financial systems by inputting accurate and timely data; Analyse, collate, extract and or reconcile financial data. Undertake investigations into financial processes and financial data, resolving issues and concerns.

In relation to the statutory year-end closedown produce working papers and complete notes to the financial statements and undertake specific tasks adhering to the given timetable.

Provide analysis, on over all company cost and budgets or financial best practice to Browns Community Services, ensuring adherence to financial regulations.

Prepare the financial performance monitoring information by identifying and extracting data from source systems, validating / reconciling the data. Provide reports to budget holders and grant claims to multiple funding bodies,monthly and quarterly monitoring reports.

Provide financial management support to the Leadership Team

Management of the onsite payroll system and keep update of leavers and starters

Management of staff expensive and process weekly or monthly invoices to be paid.

Approve of monthly staff payslips

Complete and keep updated monthly project budgets income and outgoing spend and report to CEO monthly.

To work with Browns accountancy and bookkeeper contactors

Support Bid writer with project finance information

Adhere to the company's or organisation’s policies and procedures

Answers question and provide assistance to stakeholders, customers, and clients as needed

Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions

Person Specification - Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following specific attributes.

Essential Criteria

  • Financial qualification eg NVQ level 3 or equivalent by experience
  • ICT literate to Advanced Level; including Office 365, MIS/Access Database navigation, word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have experience in using Xero and QuickBooks Accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail with numbers
  • Have recent and relevant experience of working in finance administrative or officer role
  • Friendly and approachable personality.
  • Able to work well in a small company as the only financial offer.
  • An ability to plan and prioritise work and to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Ability to work using own initiative and with minimal supervision.
  • An ability to work effectively in a busy environment, with regular interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Willingness to attend internal/external meetings and events as required, which may occasionally require working outside usual office hours.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: £14,500.00 per year
