Our innovation strategy is simple - We want to solve the challenges we have today as well as find answers to some of our industry’s bigger long-term challenges. Whether it's delivering water that is always good to drink, reducing waste in our processes with energy efficient technologies or improving visibility of the network, our150+ strong team of innovators are working day in day out to make it happen. If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant / Asset Engineer to join our team at our site in Raynesway, Derby.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Do you have previous Wastewater knowledge or experience? Do you have advanced data analysis skills? Do you have proven stakeholder liaison skills? Or perhaps you have some experience in hydraulic modelling?
If so, then read on.
As an Asset Engineer you’ll support our Tactical Asset Planning Manager as well as Senior Engineers within the team and will be responsible for one or more of the asset classes identified within the Waste Sewerage Networks sub-service of Severn Trent.
One of your tasks will be to support the team in the creation and development of robust investment plans which align to our Business Objectives. For this reason, it's key that you have excellent business case writing skills and can challenge and liaise with a range of stakeholders.
You’ll also lead the development and continuous improvement of a proactive risk methodology for the asset class. You’ll be a key enabler of effective and consistent decision making for Operation & Maintenance as well as capital investment decisions, aiming to improve asset class performance.
We’re wanting someone to come into this role to analyse potential problems to get a better understanding of them and find a way to promote a fix to solve them to ensure we are fit for the future. If this sounds like something you could do, read on!!
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Apart from being a great fit for the team you’ll ideally have a background in wastewater and experience in wastewater network modelling would be beneficial. This is an asset management role, rather than a directly engineering position. As part of this role, you will determine where investment should be, investigate overall trends of performance to identify new problem areas and most importantly manage the risk of assets with a view to where investment is required.
The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We’ll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.
With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite's perks that you’ll get being part of the Seven Trent family:
