A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Educational Technologist to join us and work within the Faculty of Education at LSTM.

Background

This role sits within the Academic Development & Innovation Team (ADI), part of the Faculty of Education, supporting the successful delivery of Learning, Teaching & Assessment (LTA) through the use of educational technologies. Working closely with the Senior Educational Technologist (Systems & Support Manager) to ensure that services are delivered effectively, and high-quality support is provided to both student and staff, enabling them to make the best use of these technologies.

The Role

The successful candidate will contribute to the effective delivery of educational technology services, systems and processes, and provides specialist support to staff and students. Our team is a critical component in supporting the exciting transformation that the Faculty of Education is currently undergoing, by increasing the number of accessible learning opportunities our students and partners have globally; meaning lots of exciting opportunities to develop new and existing technologies in support of learning, teaching and assessment at LSTM.

Key responsibilities are (but not limited to):

  • To provide specialist 1st line support to staff and students
  • To provide operational and administrative support for institutional educational technologies
  • To provide staff and students with high quality training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build good working relationships with students and staff; you will also have excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to use initiative and work without detailed supervision. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree in a relevant subject or experience of supporting educational technologies in an education setting
  • An understanding of the role of educational technologies in supporting learning, teaching and assessment
  • Experience in troubleshooting and documenting issues, through to a satisfactory resolution to the end-user(s)
  • Experience of providing end user support and advice in the use of educational technologies
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to deliver outputs consistent with expected standards in terms of productivity and quality
