Customer Service Associate, Hybrid

Job type: Full Time Permanent

Start dates: Flexible (with 5 weeks training)

Location: Central Manchester

Hours: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (no weekends required)

Competitive salary and annual bonus: Negotiable starting from £22,000

The Role:

This is a rewarding role based in our busy, central Manchester call centre; you can expect a friendly and flexible culture synonymous with our proposition to our customers. The role will involve, but not be limited to the following:

  • Take the lead on resolving customer queries and issues on calls, in writing or via emails
  • Ensuring the banks customers are compliant with Customer Due Diligence (CDD) regulatory requirements by conducting various background checks in accordance with our policies and procedures
  • Work efficiently through work volumes on a day-to-day basis, delivering exceptional customer service, in line with our SME proposition
  • Be able to respond to technical and non-technical questions in relation to the products and services we provide
  • Be a team player, working as part of an inclusive and forward-thinking team
  • Handling exception processes (BofE/EW/FC/FSCS/AML) monitoring
  • Be able to perform the core requirements of each work stream within the SME Customer Service Team - e.g., Business Savings activities, Direct Lending activities etc.

  • A minimum of 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics, is essential
  • Previous experience working in a customer service environment delivering customer-facing services, ideally with a savings background, but as a minimum in Financial Services for at least one year
  • Driven, self-motivated and disciplined; able to maintain effectiveness without tactical management.
  • Track record of delivering excellent customer service, including the ability to handle difficult conversations with customers.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills, able to engage with our customers and colleagues across all levels within the bank
  • Previous experience in system or user acceptance testing would be an advantage
