The Times is looking for an economics correspondent. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and ambitious financial journalist to provide economic news and analysis for Times readers.
The successful candidate will work closely with the economics editor to deliver news and analysis for all sections of the paper, across print and digital.

Responsibilities
Commands respect and authority on economics. Able to communicate that knowledge effectively in print, digital, radio and television to the business and general news readers of The Times
Cover major economics stories across a broad range of areas
Pitch agenda-setting exclusive story ideas, commentary and analysis to the business desk for digital and print. File clean copy fast for digital.
Build and maintain excellent contacts
Promote The Times’s economic coverage by becoming a “voice” on Times Radio
Have a strong knowledge of social media and an ability to use it to increase our readership
Work collaboratively with other sections across the paper, particularly digital and graphics, to ensure the best presentation of stories on our digital platforms
Skills and experience
Experience working as a writer or editor for a leading website, trade magazine or national newspaper
Demonstrable interest in economics and business news
Experience in digital and a commitment to growing our digital audience
Knowledge and experience of SEO
Keen attention to detail and meticulous fact-checking
Ability to use social media platforms to engage new audiences for The Times
Able to work autonomously and to strict deadlines
A strong understanding of editorial compliance and regulatory issues
