Salary: £Competitive
Location: Doncaster (On-site)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 16:30pm, and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm
Contract type: Permanent, Full-Time
Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (plus 8 bank holidays)
What you will be doing…
  • Provide a commodity strategy and purchasing service to Wabtec internal stakeholders, taking accountability and responsibility for all products, commodities, or vendors allocated to you.
  • Define, negotiate, and implement strategies at part, commodity, or service level.
  • Responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI) and FAI clearance/conformity.
  • Develop and lead annual price/cost reduction and working capital initiatives.
  • Development of strategic suppliers to maintain a competitive marketplace.
  • Own key supplier relationships at a managerial level to ensure the Wabtec UK Limited interests are always protected through regular, formal reviews.
  • Work with the wider Supply Chain group to support supplier relationship/escalation issues or deviation from contractual terms.
  • Work as part of cross-functional teams to support Commercial Bid proposals and other business initiatives.
  • Establish structured and regular Quality, Cost, and delivery reviews with suppliers to present performance results and drive improvement plans.
Are you an individual with the following?
  • Assistant or Junior Buyer experience?
  • A background in purchasing, procurement, or supplier management.
  • A proven track record of successfully partnering with various suppliers.
  • Can you demonstrate the ability to utilise creative and effective procurement strategies to acquire services while maintaining supplier relationships?
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in procurement-related documents, contracts, and reports.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
