This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established local business that designs, manufactures and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the Power Generation, Marine and Rail Traction industries.

Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, the primary responsibilities of the role are as follows:

- Supplier category management & performance control of all suppliers within the designated category. The performance management consists of quality, cost, lead-time & stocking policy adherence.

- Current Suppliers focus areas - Performance development across Safety, Quality, Cost and OTD.

- Travel within the UK and abroad will be required as part of the role.

Qualifications:

Minimum MCIPS level 3 required.

Experience:

Have at least 2 years experience of working in a Purchasing environment, ideally in an engineering business.

Skills:

- Structured and organised individual with attention to detail.

- Ability to create strong business relationships both internally and externally.

- Strong negotiation skills.

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft excel and ability to communicate the strategy, deliverables, and progress via key milestones effectively.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
