An exciting opportunity has arisen at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust for a Digital Business Partner to join the Digital Business Team on a 12 month fixed term basis.

This is an incredibly exciting time to join Nottingham University Hospitals Trust as we embark on an ambitious programme to deploy a new Electronic Patient Record for the Trust alongside supporting our Clinical and Corporate Divisions in the delivery of excellent patient care. Digital technology is also a key enabler to driving efficiencies and underpins the delivery of the wider Trust strategy.

NUH is a flexible employer and remote working is now a fully embedded part of our working practices. This role would suit an enthusiastic individual who has experience of working within this field or is a service manager within the NHS looking to further their knowledge and gain experience of delivering excellent Digital solutions

The post holder will be key to maintaining strong relationships between Digital Services and the business, providing a route of communication and escalation to ensure that we are delivering the best possible service throughout this exciting time of change, and beyond. You will work alongside services within the Trust to understand their processes, digital challenges and issues. You will also manage requests for Digital Resources that arise from a change in business requirements, co-ordinating a full assessment to ensure that they are in alignment with the Trust Digital Strategy.

In addition to the qualities in the Person specification you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills which will be crucial to build effective relationships. As an ambassador for Digital Services you will be professional in your approach, and have the ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines

You must be prepared to work flexibly and willing to travel between campuses and within the wider Health Community.

We provide specialist expertise in a wide range of areas including Application, Technical, Data Warehousing, and Information Governance, Project Management and business and clinical service delivery teams. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Support the Senior Digital Business Partner and Head of Digital Partnerships, including the management and alignment of Operational Level Agreements for Digital Services with both internal and external partners ensuring that they are reviewed and updated according to the agreed schedule.

Management of requests for Digital resources on behalf of Digital Services, ensuring that proposed IT solutions are aligned to the needs of the business and the Digital Strategy. This includes the ongoing coordination of requests within Digital Services and with Partners internal to NUH and the wider Health & Social Care community.

Responsible for working with Managers and other Health Care Professionals to understand their Business needs and IT requirements, using recognised Change Methodologies to assess how these support cost improvement initiatives and the expected benefits realisation.

Provide a route of escalation between Digital Services and the Business, ensuring that issues which require the attention or resolution by either party are communicated in a timely manner and a plan for resolution is discussed and agreed.

Contribute to the Digital Services annual plan and ensure that it is clearly articulated and understood across the organisation and our local Health Community.

Responsible for assisting with the development of Business Cases for Digital Services, and to provide support to colleagues within the wider Trust to develop the Digital elements of their Business Cases.

Contribute to the development and management of the Digital Services Portfolio and Service Catalogue, working closely with other Senior Managers and teams across NUH to deliver the Digital Services Programme of work.

Work closely with the Digital Services Applications Management Team Leader and team to provide initial impact analysis on behalf of Clinical and Corporate Directorates where Digital requirements change or new processes are to be introduced by the NUH Transformation Programme.

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Computer literate, holder of ECDL or equivalent experience in the use of MS Applications (2)
  • Educated to A Level

Desirable criteria

  • Hold an accredited Business Relationship qualification
  • Leadership or management experience
  • ITIL Foundation Level Qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Has experience at a senior level within management that operates Service Level Agreements
  • Experience of communicating technology related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience of liaising with clients, collating requirements and mapping them to business processes.

Desirable criteria

  • Has experience in leading and implementing change in a large NHS organisation.
  • Has working knowledge and experience of information flows within a large Acute Trust or public sector organisation
  • Experience of mapping processes in order to understand the current and future state business process.

Communication and Relationship

Essential criteria

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to discuss complex Technical and Business information with medical, clinical and administration staff.
  • Able to build working relationships and networks with internal and external organisations
  • Confident in attendance at Senior Meetings and the ability to deliver presentations
  • Able to communicate with clarity to internal and external stakeholders

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working with senior clinicians and Trust Management

Analytical and Judgement skill

Essential criteria

  • Able to make service judgements and recommendations to improve quality and availability of information
  • Able to manage differing and conflicting demands made on service delivery by users/customers
  • Must be able to obtain and interpret complex information from a variety of sources and translate into understandable and useful formats for different recipients.

Desirable criteria

  • Awareness of Digital initiatives and issues at a Trust, ICS and national level. Understanding of the complexities of relationships between different staff and disciplines

Planning and organisation skil

Essential criteria

  • Highly organised, with the ability to work to agreed goals, in a self-directed and professional manner.
  • Able to respond effectively to the needs of the service and to required timescales

Desirable criteria

  • Able to lead multi-disciplinary staff groups through major change

I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post.
