Cadet Administrative Assistant

A vacancy has arisen for a Cadet Administrative Assistant to join the team at the Yorkshire (North & West) Army Cadet Force, based in Strensall. This is a Crown Servant Grade E, all-hours worked, full-time position, reporting to the Cadet Executive Officer.

The main responsibilities of the role are to provide administrative support to enable Adults and Cadets to train safely and effectively as well as coordinating the maintenance of the building, stores, ranges and utilities of the real estate within their area of responsibility.

We are looking for someone who has the following experience;

  • First line supervisor/team leader or military service at Warrant Officer/SNCO
  • Recently held supervisory position within logistics, supply-chain or facilities or military RQMS/CQMS
  • Good organisation skills and able to prioritise their workload to maximise the use of their time
  • Ability to interact with a diverse range of people of various ages
  • Good IT skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
  • Self-motivated, positive and flexible in their approach
  • Current, full driving licence including Category C

At the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association for Yorkshire and the Humber (RFCA YH) we champion the Reserve and Cadet forces’ across our region, through community and corporate engagement, estate management and recruitment support to local Reserve Units and Cadet Detachments. We have been the voice for Yorkshire and the Humber’s Navy, Army and Air Force Reservists and Cadets since 1908.

The annual holiday entitlement is 25 days, which increases to 30 days after 5 years. Previous service in the Armed Forces or Government Body also qualifies the employee to 30 days on entry. This is in addition to the 8 statutory Bank Holidays. There is also an excellent voluntary CARE pension scheme in operation.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 31st May 2023 and successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview which will be held at the Army Cadet Force Office in Strensall, York during the following week (date to be confirmed)
